10 Things an Wedding Planner Can Do For You- That No One Else Can

It's tempting to try and do it all yourself, we know. And of course your mom, sister, mother-in-law, best friend, and good old cousin Sue will be there to help you, right? How hard can planning a wedding really be?

Well, to put it simply planning the average wedding takes over 300 hours. 300 hours! That's a lot of hours. And if you're like most newly engaged couples (Congratulations, by the way!) you both have a lot going on- school, jobs, kids, and you know, life. That's why so many couples in your situation these days are hiring Wedding Planners, because they quite simply don't have the time to DIY the entire shebang. But, aside from that, there are so many other things that a Wedding Planner can do for you, things you may not have even thought of yet!

1) They will ensure that no detail is overlooked. From corsages to napkins, from gift collection to bobby pins. They've been around the block a few times and they know what you'll need, long before you need it.

2) Offer experience and expertise based suggestions. They've seen a lot of weddings, a lot of good ideas and a lot of bad ideas. They can probably find a way to make whatever vision you have in your mind, happen (within reason, of course).

3) Provide opinions and feedback that aren't emotionally charged. Can you say the same about your mother, or your mother in law? They can also act as a mediator with those exact same people. You want to purchase a cake, she thinks Aunt Gertrude could bake you a lovely one- your wedding planner will find a plethora of reasons that actually sound reasonable and get you that bakery cake without sacrificing Aunt Gertrude's feelings.

4) They can curb problems before you even know there are problems. Trust me, chances are, they've seen them before.

5) They have previously established vendor relationships. They know who's who in the wedding world, and can make recommendations based on experience on which vendors you'll love, and which to steer clear of.

6) They can make the entire experience enjoyable. Just because you hire a planner does not mean you'll be uninvolved in the planning, it just means that you don't have to do the tasks that you dread, the boring tasks, or the difficult ones.

7) They can save you money. I know this sounds counterproductive, you're paying someone to save you money? But it actually is true. Because of their knowledge, negotiating skills, and previously built relationships, they are likely to get you better deals than you would ever find on your own.

8) They will keep you from being bothered. They naturally become the go-to person on your big day, and the days leading up to it, keeping vendors and the well-meaning from bothering you over menial things.

9) They will always be there for you. After all, that's what you're paying them for. If you need them, they're there. If you need them to do something, consider it done. Even if you need to vent about your mother in law insisting that her son needs to invite every third cousin on her side of the family, they're all ears.

10) They will keep the best day of your life stress-free. This is by far the biggest advantage of them all. They will take care of the last minute tasks, the vendors, the attendees, the bridal party, and everyone else to keep the big day stress-free for you, and for everyone else.

So, bite the bullet, tell your Aunt Sue that you're sorry, and call a wedding planner. Trust me, newlywed you will thank you later!
