Feature: Jeremiah Jacobs Catering
Food is a very integral part of your wedding reception, it is where the majority of your reception budget goes, and it is one of the aspects that many of your guests will remember. So, there is a lot to keep in mind when choosing your caterer!
I've had the pleasure of tasting the creations from Saint John's own Jeremiah Jacobs Catering several times over the past few years, and let me tell you, their team did not disappoint!
I caught up with Co-owners Graham Stilwell and Rebecca Jacobs to ask a few questions recently, and I would like to share their answers with you:
How long have you been in the catering business? "I've been catering for 25 years, but on a larger scale for the past 15 years when my business partner and I formed Jeremiah Jacobs Ltd in 2002.
What drew you to this line of work?
I have always enjoyed cooking, but I love feeding people. Even when I'm not working, we spend a lot of time entertaining at home.
Are you able to customize menus to fit the theme of the client's event? Most of our menus are custom built to suit the needs of our clients. We all have different tastes and budgets, and unique visions of how we would like our event to go. We specialize in that, and help our clients put the needs of their guests first so everyone has a memorable time.
What is your absolute favourite thing to cook? What I love to cook changes with the seasons and moods. When good, fresh local food is available your fingers itch to create something great. I also love to travel in the winter when work is a little bit slower. I try to take a cooking class on the local foods, and spend time a the local markets. My last trip was to the Mexican Baja region so I guess that lately I love cooking Baja Fish Tacos and this amazing meatball salsa soup. And of course Mexican Tre leche cake with lots of coconut and rum!
If you're on the hunt for a caterer, I highly suggest looking them up! You can find them on their Website or their Facebook Page.
