Maid of Honour Duties

You've been asked to be a maid of honour! First off, congratulations! That's a huge role to play in someone's wedding day! But, what now? Unsure of the expectations? We've made up a quick reference list for you!

1) By far the most important task, be there for the bride! During the planning process, and on the Big Day itself, be the bride's rock.

2) Attend dress shopping and fitting appointments, for both the bride and bridesmaids.

3) Attend other vendor meetings if asked.

4) Co-ordinate with the bridal party on clothing, duties, timeline, etc.

5) Host or co-host the bridal shower.

6) Plan and organize the bachelorette party.

7) Attend all other wedding related festivities- engagement party, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, etc.

8) Be organized on the day of the wedding, including keeping a list of all vendor's contact information on hand.

9) Help with setting up the venue, if necessary.

10) Help the bride with her veil and train before she heads down the isle, before the reception, and before the first dance.

11) Hold the groom's ring before and during the ceremony.

12) Hold the bride's bouquet during the vows.

13) Be a witness on the wedding certificate.

14) Write and give an amazing Maid of Honour speech during the reception.

15) Transport wedding gifts safely to their destination.

16) Help with tearing down and cleaning up the night of/morning after if needed.

It's a lot of responsibility, but you've got this!
